Rev. William L. "Jimi" Gwynn III

Executive Secretary for the National Juneteenth Christian Leadership Council (NJCLC).

Rev. Gwynn is currently the Lead Servant/Organizer of the Hope of Glory Christian Assembly, St. Louis, MO. He previously served as the lead pastor of the Goodwill M.B. Church of Belzoni, MS., and Mt. Herald M.B. Church of St. Louis, MO. Rev. Gwynn studied at Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Shawnee, Kansas and Phillips Jr. College, Gulfport, MS., Mississippi Baptist Seminary, Greenville, MS., Church of Christ School of Religious Studies Greenville, MS., Reformed Presbyterian Seminary, Jackson, MS.

Rev. William L. “Jimi” Gwynn III is a native of Columbus, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1956. He was baptized in Columbus, Ohio at an early age at the Tried Stone M.B. Church. The call to preach was accepted in 1983 at the First Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi under the leadership of the late Rev. Henderson Fields Jr. He is married to the former Gail Randel of Greenville, Ms. and they have two sons Tony Jahmal b.January 1986 , and Marcus Zacchaeus b. April 1987 . Proud grandfather of seven. He has been the pastor of the: Goodwill M.B. Church of Belzoni, Ms., Mt. Herald M.B. Church of St. Louis Mo., and is now the Lead Servant/Organizer of the Hope of Glory Christian Assembly Inc. Est. 2004 St. Louis, Mo.(1st Worship Service April 3, 2005).

Past BOARD MEMBER- JUBILEE COMMUNITY CHURCH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Since 2003 he has worked with this organization serving in various capacities and fulfilling various roles. Currently sitting on the board that oversees, directs programs and the hiring and retention of directors and others for the carrying out of the duties and visions of the JCCCDC. Working in this capacity with the others members of the board, meetings are attended, communication is maintained and resources are given and or monitored to affect the greatest amount of change.

 

INSTRUCTOR –JOB ALLIANCE OF AMERICA INC. ST. LOUIS DIVISION (Jobs for Life Inc.)

In this role he serves as an instructor in the thirteen week program geared towards the redemption of fallen humanity with biblical instruction as the key and core element. He teaches at least one module of the core class during the thirteen week session.

 

DIRECTOR- STATE OF MISSOURI JUNETEENTH COMMISSION

In this office Rev. Gwynn operates as the state of Missouri’s liaison with the National Juneteenth Foundation, Rev. Ronald V. Myers Sr., M.D. He also communicates with Missouri legislators and the Governor. This constitutes the core of this work along with coordination and promotion of local Juneteenth Events.

 

ADDENDUM:

Rev. Gwynn has founded three non-profit corporations chartered by the State of Missouri and serves as advisor to others who desire to do the same. He has had radio ministries both in Mississippi and in St. Louis.
